The Idaho Bass Federation (TIBF) meeting Minutes Thursday, April 21, 2011, 7:00pm.


            The TIBF April monthly meeting was brought to order 7:00pm. at Western Marine, Nampa, Idaho. Those in attendance were:  Bruce Flesher, President; Tammy Shuyler, Secretary-Treasurer; Steve Day-Communications; Steve Jones-Conservation Director;  Roger Sheltrown-SRBM; Tony Shuyler-Idaho Bassmasters; Amber Bentley (Youth)-Idaho Bassmasters; Via phone were Michael Tauscher-Snake River Valley Bass; David Arthaud-Idaho Bassmasters; Larry Burton-Idaho Basshunters.

Secretary-Treasurer Report-Tammy Shuyler

  • Treasurer Report
  • March meeting minutes approved.
  • As of April 21, 2011, there are 211 active members.  Additionally, there are also 13 Active Walleye members.
  • Payment of Silver Creek Supply bill for $654.18 approved.  This was bill for Conservation structure plant supplies.
  • Payment for $358.19 rental car bill for Bruce Flesher and National Championship fishing members presented for payment and approved.

Youth Report-Brian Ashton-Bruce reported in absence of Brian.

  • High School Fishing tournament is Sunday, May 1, at CJ Strike.  One team was registered as of meeting.  There is a pre-tournament briefing 4-8pm. Saturday April 30 at Mountain Home Hampton Inn.  Late entries are ok.  Register by going to BassFederation.com, click on Youth and then High School Fishing.  Registration fee is $25.
  • Youth Championship is May 21 at Cascade.  Two youth are currently registered.  Brian has put a lot of work and effort into planning for this event including sponsors, contributions/prizes and volunteers. 

Conservation Report-Steve Jones

  • Actual structure plant in Cascade will occur May 15.  Snake River Bassmasters has volunteered to assist Fish and Game with the plant with Steve Day coordinating (Thank you Steve!).  More volunteers are welcome.

Communication Report-Steve Day

  • Steve Day is offering a service to TIBF member clubs to create and maintain club websites. Cost annually $100.  He is currently working on the Idaho Basshunters website soon to be completed.
  • Members can go to TIBF website http://www.idahobassfed.com for all updates and information.
  • TIBF members have free ad space available on website.

Tournament Report-Bruce Flesher

  • TIBF 2011 Qualifiers-Bruce reported there were 21 boats at first South Qualifier at Brownlee with 41 fisherman.  Next qualifier is Owyhee.
  • 2011 NW Divisional upcoming at Hood River April 27-29.  The Idaho team is defending Champion.  A house has been rented for all 12 members of the team plus Bruce and Cindy.
  • Ultimate Angler Event applications now available on TIBF website.
  • TBF National Championship- April 12-17, 2011, Lake Nickijack update.  Don Boeger took 5th place overall in the event taking home $2,000. He will go on to compete in BFL, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Old Business

  • TIBF Annual banquet planning update-The Annual TIBF Banquet date is February 18, 2012. Location voted to be Hilton Inn, Boise, same as last two years.  
  • Snake River Outdoor Sports Show date changed to June 25, 2011, Pocatello.  Mike Iconelli will be presenting three in lieu of two seminars with final seminar at 5pm.  There will be Kids Casting event 11-2/3pm.  Watch for flyer to be posted on www.Idahobassfed.com 
  • Banners-Tammy Shuyler discussed details of “butterfly” banners and costs.  Cost for 12’ banner 1 sided is $230.  It was decided to have Tammy researche potential availability thru TBF as well as cost for doublesided banners.  There is a general consensus that purchase of at least 2 banners is good idea and budgeting up to $600 for the purchase.  Decision tabled until next meeting
  • Michael Tauscher will email Steve Day for website publication Open Schedules on East side of State that will qualify for the Ultimate Angler Event.

New Business

  • 2012 Northwest Divisional planning-Mountain Home was voted to be the location for 2012 NW Divisional tournament the first weekend of May, 2012.  Local sponsors and contributors in Mountain Home will be solicited to sponsor welcome BBQ and banquet. The banquet will have approximately 85 people including anglers, spouses and TBF representatives.  Tournament would launch from the Air Base Ramp
  • Upcoming event at Cabelas, Father’s Day June 19.  Bruce asks members to bring ideas to the table for TIBF participation at the event. 
  • Bruce reviewed FNC President Meeting minutes.
  • Tammy will set up TIBF Facebook page.

Meeting adjourned 9:05pm.
