The Idaho Bass Federation (TIBF) meeting Minutes Thursday, April 19, 2012, 7:00pm.

 

            The TIBF April monthly meeting was brought to order 7:00 p.m. at JH Sales & Marine(formerly Western Marine), Nampa, Idaho. Those in attendance were:  Bruce Flesher, President; Steve Day-Communications; Tammy Shuyler-Secretary/Treasurer; Steve Jones-Conservation Director; Mark Roberts-Idaho Bass Anglers; Tom Horrace-Snake River Bassmasters; Brian Ashton-Youth Director; David Ashton-Idaho Bassmasters; Davahn Sensourghino-Idaho Bassmasters; Phone-Brandon Craner-Magic Valley Bassmasters.

Secretary-Treasurer Report-Tammy Shuyler

  • Minutes approved
  • Treasurer Report
  • Bruce Flesher presented invoices for payment:  Bulldog-Tammy to verify with them just what is owed; Brent Erhler-Guest Speaker TIBF share-$208.78; Don Boeger/Chris Horton/Bruce Flesher trip to Nationals including car rental and motel-$335.57.  Checks issued for payment of invoices.

Youth Report-Brian Ashton

·         TIBF website has information regarding TIBF Youth Championship entry deadline of May 25.  Brian will send reminder email to all members.

·         The National Guard Junior World Championship (NGJWC) is scheduled for August 5, 2012.  John Hickey will be representing the 15-18yo Age Group.  Carson Miller was randomly drawn to represent the 11-14yo. Age Group out of three entries.

·         Brian is coordinating Youth National travel.  Each youth/family will receive up to $1,000 to pay for travel expenses.  Receipts must be presented.

Conservation Report-Steve Jones

  • Lake Lowell Bio-Blitz update-Event will be held June 9.  TIBF Youth fishing booth will be set up. Steve Jones and Steve Day will facilitate.

Communication Report-Steve Day

  • Steve still needs Idaho Basshunters information to complete their website.
  • Steve Day is offering to TIBF member clubs to create and maintain club websites. Annual cost $100.  
  • Members can go to TIBF website http://www.idahobassfed.com for all updates and information.
  • TIBF members have free ad space available on website.

Tournament Report-Bruce Flesher

  • The first SW Qualifier has been held.
  • Team Member participation tabled pending further discussion.

Old Business

  • 2012 Northwest Divisional planning-Mountain Home is location for 2012 NW Divisional tournament on May 6-11, 2012.  Tournament launch and weigh-in will be at the Air Base Ramp.   There will be several volunteer opportunities at Divisionals including boat launch, boat retrieval and weigh-in.  The Idaho State Team will meet immediately following each days event at Bruce’s motorhome parked for team planning strategy and dinner.  Idaho Power has approved use of ATV or golf court for fisherman delivering bags to release boat.  Camping-Group will camp at Locust Park below CJ Strike Dam. No power available.  Entire team is staying at Hampton Inn in Mountain Home.  Most other State Teams with exception of one team, is also staying at Hampton Inn. 

 

Northwest Divisional daily schedule is as follows:

 

·         Sunday-May 6-Welcome BBQ for teams and families.

·         Monday-May 7-Team member meetings with dinner.  Volunteers welcome at dinner.

·         Tuesday-May 8-Team Registration-Hampton Inn, Mountain Home. Dinner served to teams by the Mountain Home Merchants.

·         Wednesday-May 9-First day of fishing. Volunteers needed for launch and weigh-in. Bruce needs 6 volunteers for weigh-in. TIBF team meeting and dinner at Locust Park Bruce’s motorhome.

·         Thursday-May 10-Second day of fishing.  Volunteers needed for launch and weigh-in. TIBF team meeting and dinner at Locust Park Bruce’s motorhome.

·         Friday-May 11-Final day of fishing. Volunteers needed for launch and weigh-in.  Weigh-in will be 3:30pm. 

·         ALL MEMBERS, FAMILY, FRIENDS PUBLIC ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND IN SUPPORT FOR WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY WEIGH-INS.  FINAL DAY WEIGH-IN IS PARTICULARLY IMPORTANT.

·         The Soldier Appreciation Day will be held Saturday May 12 simultaneously along with High School Fishing.  There will be 20 soldiers and 10 volunteer boaters.  They will arrive at launch ramp 5:30am. and fish two soldiers per boat.  There is a three bass limit per soldier.  Each boater will provide equipment for each soldier fisherman including poles, tackle, and life jacket.  The High School Fishing will launch first followed by Soldier boats.

 

  • 2013 TIBF Officers-Bruce is encouraging Idaho members to think about future officer elections. Interested individuals should plan to attend a couple of the board meetings to get a feel for what transpires during the meetings.
  • Board members jerseys-Tom Horrace presented his findings.  He reports not much cost savings by using Gemini.   Club logos can be uploaded to website and shirts can be Cabela Angler and Ranger Cup compliant. Tabled pending further research.
  • Steve Day presented sponsor plaque for review and approval.  Motion made and approval vote to finalize plaques for delivery to respective recipients.
  • TBF Insurance coverage-What does it cover?  This topic will be researched and presented next meeting.

New Business

  • Bruce reviewed the 2012 President Meeting notes.
  • Steve Jones will research if Idaho has a sport fish restoration fund available.
