The Idaho Bass Federation (TIBF) Meeting Minutes Thursday, April 17, 2014, 7:10pm.

The TIBF April monthly meeting was brought to order 7:10p.m. April 17, 2014, at J&H Sales and Marine, Nampa, Idaho. Those in attendance were: Davanh Sengsourinho/President-Idaho Bassmasters; Tammy Shuyler- Secretary/Treasurer-Idaho Bassmasters; Scyler Hill/Vice President-Magic Valley Bassmasters; Steve Day/Communications-Snake River Bassmasters; Bill Kriner-Snake River Bassmasters, Phone-Brian Ashton-Youth Director-Idaho Bassmasters.

    • 226 Members have renewed 2014 dues. There are a few more pending.
    • Motorbands are now complete and Steve Day has completed web page on TIBF website for marketing them. Tammy emailed Robert Cartilage again reminding him they are now available. Tammy will continue to store the three bins.
    • Steve Day was paid $100 for his annual TIBF Web Management services.

    Youth Report-Brian Ashton
    • Youth Age group changed to 11-15yo. and will be in affect for 2014 Youth Championship on Cascade. Brian stated that the Youth cannot be 16yo. before Aug. 31 of year in which they compete at Nationals.
    • Youth Championship set for August 10, 2014, on Cascade Reservoir.
    • Brian has updated the Youth Championship Rules/Application and Steve Day will upload to website. One change will be that each participant must name an observer.
    • Brian is also reaching out to Idaho’s HS Athletic Director to promote High School Fishing.
    • High School Championship is set for June 29, 2014, at CJ Strike Reservoir.
    • Brian learned about an Idaho grant program available through Parks and Recreation. Parks and Recreation will grant monies for events held at the parks and the Youth Championship is eligible to apply for the grant. This will be money used at the Championship for boater expense, etc.

    Conservation Report-Position vacant.

    • Dave Parrish-IDF&G is working on Black Sands south ramp rebuild project and will be seeking letters of support from the bass fisherman. Steve Day will follow up with Dave about letter writing campaign.
    • Canyon Marine has completed the repairs to the Release Boat steering. The steering cable was replaced. Repair estimate approximately $200. There are seals in water tank holding are that need to be replaced which Scyler will do. He advises they are inexpensive and easy to replace.
    • No changes of Lake Lowell usage this year.

    Communication Report-Steve Day
    • See TIBF website for all Qualifier tournament schedules.
    • Steve will contact Shane Torock about uploading the North Qualifier application.
    • Steve Day is offering to TIBF member clubs to create and maintain club websites. Annual cost $100. Steve will be sending out his annual invoices for his services.
    • Members can go to TIBF website for all updates and information.
    • TIBF members have free ad space available on website.

    Tournament Report-Davanh Sengsourinho
    • TBF Nationals April 8-12, 2014, Grand Lakes, Oklahoma, now complete. Chad Kaiser/Boater and Boyd Golightly/Non-Boater represented Idaho. It was tough fishing with many anglers failing to bring in limits.
    • TBF NW Divisionals scheduled for Flaming Gorge, WY, May 18-23, 2014.
    • South Qualifier Brownlee ramp change from Woodhead to Farewell Bend.
    • The East and South Qualifiers scheduled for August 23 and 24 will be at Walcott and Milner respectively. A potluck is scheduled for evening of August 23 at the Burley Golf Course. RV camping available in Burley across the river from golf course at the Mini-Cassia Chamber of Commerce RV park.
    • Davanh advises that South needs a Non-boater.

    Old Business:
    • 2014 TIBF/TBF/FLW Dues-TIBF member clubs are responsible for collection from individual members. Once collected, club secretary-treasurer will sign online at to create an invoice. For questions, please contact Tammy at 208-484-9278 or e-mail

    New Business:
    • Annual TBF President meeting was April 8-12, 2014. Davanh shared meeting notes which will be attached to these minutes. A couple of highlights are that NW and SW Division merge discussion was tabled to next year. Also, the President meeting will now be held at the same time as Ranger Cup.
