April Meeting Minutes

The TIBF monthly meeting was brought to order 7:00pm., April 21, 2016, at JH Marine and Sales, Nampa, Idaho. Those in attendance were: Scyler Hill-Vice President-Magic Valley/Mini-Cassia; Tammy Shuyler-Secretary-Treasurer-Idaho Bassmasters; Steve Day/Communications-Snake River Bassmasters; Jason Fuller-Conservation Director –Idaho Bassmasters; James Brandt-Mountain Home Hawg Hunters; Scott Lepka- Mountain Home Hawg Hunters; Steve Spear-Idaho Bassmasters; Tony Shuyler-Idaho Bass Masters, Travis Jarvis-Treasure Valley Bass Masters; Shoni Jarvis- Treasure Valley Bass Masters; William Kriner- Snake River Bass Masters; Russ Littlefield-Idaho Bass Masters; Bobbie Littlefield-Idaho Bass masters. Secretary-Treasurer Report-Tammy Shuyler
    •  Minutes.
    •  Treasurer Report: General Account-$8634.33, Youth Account-$2965.43 Qualifier Account-$7117.14
    •  Currently at 270 Active members.

Youth Report-Brian Ashton
    •  State Youth 2016 Championships-Location will be Lake Lowell July 10. Brian is working on the Youth app and rules to be posted soon on TIBF website. He will also be contacting member clubs to encourage participation.
    •  2016 High School Tournament-Location Cascade Res June 26 which is a change in location from CJ Strike. Sign ups are via online registriation and tournament is handled by National.
    •  2016 HS National Qualifier Kyler Fugate will be paid $500 for travel expenses. He was the only competitor this year as Loren dropped out to fish TBF Nationals.

Conservation Report-Jason Fuller
    •  The Board is seeking suggestions for a 2016 conservation project. Some suggestions were garbage pickup. Another suggestion is donating into the rest rooms that are to be built during the Black Sands boat ramp restoration. Jason to report back May meeting.

Communication Report-Steve Day
    •  2016 Treasure Valley Open will be April 30-May 1 at Lake Lowell. Steve will upload the application.
    • Steve has already uploaded the Magic Valley Memorial Open app which is May 14.
    •  Steve Day is offering to TIBF member clubs to create and maintain club websites. Annual cost $100. Steve will be sending out his annual invoices for his services.
    •  Members can go to TIBF website http://www.idahobassfed.com for all updates and information.
    •  TIBF members have free ad space available on website.

Tournament Report-Davanh Sengsourhino ( Reported by Tammy Shuyler)
    •  2016 Divisionals-Location is the Cascade Locks-Hood River May 8-13. A house has been rented with Qualifier travel funds. An additional $1425 was added to State Team travel fund from the 2016 banquet gun raffle. Ranger jerseys have been ordered. Davanh will be issuing checks for State Team travel funds.
    •  TIBF qualifer no longer required to sign up 30 days in advance. All Qualifier participants must be active members at time of registration.
    •  Tammy will create a Qualifier Option sheet for sign-up and print a roster of members to keep track of active membership for sign-up purposes.

Old Business:
    •  TIBF Officer Elections-Board elections were completed. New officers are as follows: President- Tammy Shuyler, Vice-President-Chris Tucker, Secretary/Treasurer-Bobbie Littlefield. Shoni Jarvis will assist Bobbie with Secretary/Treasurer duties.

New Business:
    •  The release boat will be at Lake Lowell for the Treasure Valley Open, April 30-May 1. It was discussed a new regulator is needed and will be purchased for the release boat by TIBF. The Idaho Fish and Game own the boat and allow us to use the boat and the insurance is covered by the State of Idaho. TIBF has maintained the boat including cost of the repairs, parts and maintenance. Brian Ashton has the registration stickers for the boat. There were concerns about boat operation and proper handling while releasing fish during a recent tournament. It is imperative that anyone operating the release boat and handling the fish release, not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, following appropriate fish release etiquette.
    •  TBIF meeting location is being moved to Canyon Marine in Nampa.  T

IBF Meeting: Next TIBF Monthly Meeting will be held May 19, 2016, at Canyon Marine, Nampa.
