The Idaho Bass Federation (TIBF) meeting Minutes Thursday, August 14, 2013, 7:00pm.


             The TIBF July monthly meeting was brought to order 7:00 p.m. at J/H Sales & Marine, Nampa, Idaho . Those in attendance were:  Davanh Sengsourhino/President-Idaho Bassmasters; Tammy Shuyler-Secretary/Treasurer-Idaho Bassmasters; Scyler Hill/Vice President-Magic Valley Bassmasters(by Phone); Steve Day/Communications-Snake River Bassmasters; Bill Kriner-Snake River Bassmasters.


Secretary-Treasurer Report-Tammy Shuyler

  • July meeting minutes approved.
  • Treasurer Report.
  • Reimbursement of Youth travel expense to Larry Fugate. The total includes both airfare and motel.

Youth Report-Brian Ashton (Davanh reported)

  • Youth Championship Tournament held August4, 2013, on Cascade Reservoir.1st place winners were Loren Torok (15-18yo) and Chandler McRay (11-14yo.)Brian will provide full report at the September meeting since unable to attend August meeting.
  • National Junior Championships are set for August 14, 2013, in Shreveport, LA.Brian will be travelling to attend along with 2012 Youth qualifiers.
  • TBF announced there is a change in Age Groups for next year.There will only be one age group for 11-16yo. competitors.

Conservation Report-No officer (interested Member sought to fill vacant position) Davanh reported.

  • No report.

Communication Report-Steve Day

  • ISCAC-Steve will continue to monitor activity and attend the meetings.†† Go to ISCAC website for legislative summary.
  • Steve Day is offering to TIBF member clubs to create and maintain club websites. Annual cost $100.  
  • Members can go to TIBF website http://www.idahobassfed.com for all updates and information.
  • TIBF members have free ad space available on website.

Tournament Report-Davanh Sengsourhino

  • CAST is Saturday, August 17, at Black Canyon Res., Emmett-Volunteers can meet for breakfast 7am. Cold Mountain Creek, Emmett, before heading up to the reservoir.Volunteer boaters are still needed.
  • Scales of Justice, Sunday, September 22, 2013, CJ Strike Res.Boater volunteers are needed.Submit volunteer app early for increased chances of winning Mustang Life Tournament Inflatable Jacket.For questions, contact Davanh.Go to www.idahobassfed.com to download the SOJ application.
  • Jack N Jill is scheduled for September 29, 2013, at Brownlee-Woodhead. There will be a BBQ Saturday, September 28, at the campground for Jack N Jill participants.
  • North results are pending.
  • The 2014 State Team will be determined by end of September, 2013.

Old Business

  • 2013 TIBF/TBF/FLW Dues-TIBF member clubs are responsible for collection from individual members.   • Motor Bands-Tammy and Steve Day continue to work on project.The motor bands will be sold for $20/ea. For quantities up to 25.For orders 26-49, $19/ea. And 50+ $18/ea.If this project is economically viable as a profit source for TIBF, it will become a permanent project.Steve Day has ordered the material which should arrive by November, 2013.Once received, a seamstress will cut and sew the bands.Screen printing has also been arranged when ready for printing.
  • 2014 Banquet planning.Location has been identified in Boise/Meridian located at the intersection of Fairview/Eagle Road 1920 Records Way, Meridian, ID 83646.It has 3 flatscreen TVís with laptop, microphone and excellent kitchen amenities including ice machine. Capacity is 205 with available tables set up for 175.The Center at the Park (the new Meridian Senior Center in Kleinert Park) has been reserved for banquet date of February 22, 2014.Sponsors are currently being researched and any members wishing to participate as sponsor/donor are asked to contact Davanh.A local motel will be identified and rate negotiated for attendees.There are several in the area and one will be sought that has a shuttle available.Caterers and bar will also be researched and recommendations presented to the Board for final selection at the October meeting.
  • Solar bat glasses disposition tabled pending Brianís return.

New Business

  • Tammy reported as of 8-14-13, TIBF has 276 active members.
  • Discussion about ways to increase Youth participation in all regions ie. North, South, East.It was mentioned that perhaps a Regional qualifier could be considered.All clubs are asked to discuss with their membership and provide feedback at next meeting.
