The Idaho Bass Federation (TIBF) meeting Minutes Thursday, December 20, 2012, 7:00pm.

 

            The TIBF December monthly meeting was brought to order 7:00 p.m. at JH Sales & Marine(formerly Western Marine), Nampa, Idaho. Those in attendance were:  Bruce Flesher, President; Tammy Shuyler-Secretary/Treasurer; Steve Day-Communications; Davanh Sengsourhino-Idaho Bassmasters; Steve Jones-Conservation; Mark Roberts-Idaho Bassmasters; Phone-Scyler Hill-Magic Valley Bassmasters and Brian Ashton-Youth Director.  (The new conference phone system is working great!!)

 

Secretary-Treasurer Report-Tammy Shuyler

  • Minutes approved
  • Treasurer Report
  • Invoice approved for $33.00 payment to Steve Day for the TIBF Banquet tickets. 
  • Tammy will also research and determine if both mailing addresses for TIBF and TBF can be included on the invoice for ease of dues payment and submission to respective entities.
  • Tammy will issue $300 payment to ISCAC for 2013 annual renewal. 
  • TIBF has 307 active members as of meeting date.

 

Youth Report-Brian Ashton

  • The next Youth Championship tournament is scheduled for August 3-4, 2013, on Cascade Reservoir.  The championship rules and revisions will be presented at January, 2013, meeting. 
  • The next High School Championship will be May 12, 2013, at CJ Strike.  The Soldier Appreciation tournament will be held simultaneously.  There is consideration to open up enrollment in the Soldier Appreciation tournament to all military branches. Brian will contact TBF for the HS Flyer copy for displaying locally at upcoming events and businesses.
  • Solar Bat glass sale profits will go to High School Divisional travel expenses. This years champions are David Ashton and Jake Beahm who will be recipients of the Solar Glass net profit proceeds to defray approximately $500 of travel costs. Brian will provide a copy of the invoice to Tammy for payment to TIBF.  To date, 22 pairs of 144 pairs sold. 
  • Cabin Fever Reliever Event-Scheduled for February 2, 2013, at the Karcher Mall in Nampa.  It is a one day event (about 7 hours).  Go to KidsFirstCast.org website for more information including a volunteer and donation application available for downloading.  Booth space is also available for rental at this event.  TIBF will be setting up and manning the pond at the event. 

 

Conservation Report-Steve Jones

  • Lake Lowell meeting-No communication at all has been provided by the Lake Lowell Planning Committee for any meeting.  Appears for now, no meeting will be held for further input from the public.
  • Lowrance book status report.  Steve Jones still needs photos featuring Lowrance banners or products.  The book will be completed in time to be presented April, 2013, at the President meeting.

 

Communication Report-Steve Day

  • IBASS is no longer and has disbanded.
  • Steve will update TIBF website with new TIBF officer contact information.
  • New circuit coming to Idaho called Anglers Choice which is similar to ABA.
  • ISCAC update:  Steve attended the meeting.  There are fundraiser tickets available for various outdoor opportunities including a bass fishing outing.  Steve Day and Davanh have the tickets to be sold. 
  • Steve Day is offering to TIBF member clubs to create and maintain club websites. Annual cost $100.  
  • Members can go to TIBF website http://www.idahobassfed.com for all updates and information.
  • TIBF members have free ad space available on website.

 

 

Tournament Report-Bruce Flesher

  • The Qualifier fishing schedule is now set for the South and East.  Still need the North qualifier schedule.
  • Steve has updated the Event schedule.

 

Old Business

  • 2013 TIBF/TBF/FLW Dues-Renewal dues are now due and payable.  TIBF member clubs are responsible for collection from individual members. Once collected, club secretary-treasurer will sign online at www.tbfwebservices.com/app.php to create an invoice. Club will remit National dues per the invoice. Please remit Idaho State federation dues to Tammy Shuyler, TIBF Secretary-Treasurer, 3875 N Hartley Road, Eagle, ID 83616.   • 2013 TBF/FLW Rod Incentive-Members who renewed taking advantage of the rod incentive via TBF/FLW are now receiving the rods and note they were a worthwhile opportunity for purchasing.
  • Motor Bands-The minimum amount of material needed will be ordered in preparation of constructing the motor bands.  The motor bands will be sold for $20 each.   If this project is economically viable as a profit source for TIBF, it will become a permanent project.

 

New Business

  • No new business.

 

2013 TIBF Banquet Planning

 

  • Date:  February 16, 2013
  • Location:  Hilton Garden Inn, Boise
  • Guest Speaker:  Selection pending.  John Burrow, Canyon Marine and Davanh  continues to research a Guest Speaker option.
  • Banquet tickets are now on sale and available through each member club for $45/each.  This includes chicken or beef meal, One Big Raffle Ticket($10 value) and 20 regular raffle tickets ($20 value). Contact an executive board member for additional tickets as needed.  A weekly update of ticket sales is required to TammyShuyler@gmail.com with ticket number and meal choice.
  • Banquet poster under construction.  
  • Big Raffle Item:  Humming Bird 998SI.  Individual tickets will be available for sale for $10/each.
  • Live Auction Items:  Fortrex Trolling Motor
  • Raffle/Auction donations from all available sources including member clubs, individual members and interested business are requested for fundraising at the banquet. 
  • Tammy will request the Credit Card machine from Key Bank.
  • Davanh has been working with new and existing sponsors.  He is seeking input for recruitment opportunities of additional sponsors from the TIBF membership.  Notify Davanh of any ideas or suggestions via his email on the TIBF website.
  • Hilton Garden Motel contact is Jennifer Reed.  Bruce also recommended that special “command” hooks be purchased in advance of the event for displaying all the sponsor banners.  Care needs to be taken to not damage the facility with the banner installation. 
  • The Executive Board is planning for attendance at or above last year numbers.
