Meeting Minutes

February 17, 2005

 

President Gary Keith called the regular membership of the Idaho State BASS Federation to order at 7:45 p.m. at Tri State Marine. The minutes from the January 20, 2005 meeting were read and passed. There were 13 officers and representatives in attendance.

 

TREASURE REPORT: Report from the treasure was read and motion made to accept; voted to pass.

 

YOUTH REPORT: Scyler the youth state tournament will be at C.J. Strike on the 21st of May. Scyler will need help from all clubs if possible to have boats and observer for each of the boats. The fishing tournament will be launch at safe light, weigh in at 2 p.m. A BBQ will be after the weigh in. The kids that go on to Nationals will go July 25th 28th. Discussion that the kids need to learn to run trolling motors before the nationals but the boater has preference at state level to decide if the kids run their trolling motors. A $10 entry fee, the money going towards the kids that make it to the nationals. Expectation of 20 25 kids at this time. Discussion of late August early September for the 2006 finals. The raffle for the shotgun is going very well at this time.

 

CONSERVATION REPORT: Mike Lembke nothing to report at this time will have more to report at the March meeting.

 

TOURNAMENT REPORT: Bruce has been busy getting sponsor money; he has commitments from Ranger, Yamaha and Chevy dealership of Caldwell.

The Sports Show at Garden City will be March the 3rd the 6th need as much help as possible for the CAST for Kids and for the booth for the Idaho State BASS Federation.

 

COMMUNICATION REPORT: The suggestion was made that the WEB

Be updated and some of the older items could possibly be removed. Gary suggested that he get email addresses of the other club presidents so that he could send them updated information as needed.

 

Old BUSINESS: The release boat will need more repairs before the IBM Open and the state needs to get it prepared for the 2006 Divisional.

Also there is a need to have more catch and release made up.

 

The contact person that will work on the newsletter will need information by the 15th of March to have one made and out by April. A price list for the sponsor advertisements $25 full page, $15 half page, business card $5. Also Bruce and Gary will have the updated Alliance Sponsors for the newsletter.

 

NEW BUSINESS: Clean up day at Owyhee will be March the 13th. Mailing list from the federation various boat shops and others has asked for the mailing list sent to them. No list will be released without permission of the federation members, please discuss at your next meeting and let us know at the March meeting so we know what we can do.
