has spoken with IDFG regarding Lake
Lowell’s carp problem. The current carp count is 1.3 million compared
to 30,000 bass. There are ongoing attempts to eradicate the carp but the
problem persists. Drastic measures made
need to be implemented in order to rebuild the sport fishery in Lake Lowell. As a result, it is problematic to plan this
event for Lake Lowell.
He suggests that we monitor the BBB Open results to determine if Lake Lowell
could or should be still in the running as a location. Some positive responses have been received
from the City of Nampa
and Mountain Home. No response yet from
Orofino or Sandpoint. Bruce is strongly considering CJ Strike or
for the location. There is a casino in N. Idaho who is very receptive to accommodating large
groups such as the divisional event.
There is a $1,000 allowance from TBF for the banquet. Bruce is seeking sponsors for all aspects and
costs of the event. Planning is ongoing
with any and all input encouraged from the member clubs.
