The Idaho Bass Federation (TIBF) meeting Minutes Thursday, March 19, 2009, 7pm.


            The TIBF March monthly meeting was brought to order 7:00pm., Western Marine, Nampa, Idaho.  Those in attendance were:  Bruce, Flesher, President; John Lancaster, Vice-President/Youth Director; Tammy Shuyler, Secretary-Treasurer; Steve Jones, Conservation Director; Steve Day, Webmaster; Mike Ball, SRB; Kurt Campbell, Idaho Walleye Unlimited; Don Sechler, Idaho Walleye Unlimited; John Clapp, IBA; Tony Shuyler, IBM; Roger Stringer, TVB; Dave Keever, Mini-Cassia and IBH.


February 26, 2009, minutes approved.


Treasurer Report-Tammy Shuyler

  • Vote made that a Mason’s Trophies $180.00 plaque cost will not be requested to be reimbursed by Eastern Qualifier division.
  • All Idaho Divisions will report entry fees and payouts to Treasurer Tammy Shuyler to be made a part of the monthly financial report.
  • The current East Qualifier account with Bank of Cascades will be closed in June.
  • Tammy and Steve Day will work on reconciling financial report.
  • Bruce proposes that $1,000 will be directed into each of the following funds from the sale of the TIBF boat:  Youth, Conservation, Survivor Fund
  • Bruce submits $627.01 travel expense for his travel to Branson, MO. Voted and approved by those present to reimburse Bruce for the full cost of the expense.
  • Treasurer report approved.


Youth Report-John Lancaster

  • Youth Championship will be held at Harrison State Park, Coeur D Alene, ID, June 20-21, 2009.  Information on the Harrison State Park can be found in the web.


Conservation Report-Steve Jones

  • Proper fish catch and release handling instructions is currently being drafted and finalized by Steve for distribution to the State clubs.
  • Quaga and zebra mussel legislation is moving forward in legislature.
  • Bruce talked about Boat US so be affiliated with TBF.  They a fishing line recycling program which Bruce is looking into.


Communications-Steve Day

  • Announced new additions on TIBF from Brandon Craner and Bruce Flesher after their recent visit to Branson, Missouri, TBF National Championships.
  • All members are encouraged to complete the medical survey for which there is a link on TIBF website.  The survey is being implemented to identify physical consequences of bass fisherman.


New business

  • Bruce spoke about the 2009 TIBF Banquet.  It is scheduled to be held November 21, 2009. 
  • Bruce proposed that a separate committee be organized for banquet planning.  The theme of the banquet is to support warm water fishing, Youth and Conservation in Idaho.
  • Speakers an be brought in if airfare paid.  TBF will pay their speaking fees.
  • Banquet planning committee will meet Thursday, April 16, 2009, at 5:30pm. prior to regular meeting.
  • Bruce reviewed his “Notes from Branson”.  See notes following these minutes.
  • TBF Premium Memberships will soon be available online.  The membership will allow a paid member to receive discounted items from TBF store.
  • Ranger Cup Program-$3 per state membership.
