COMMITTEE
REPORTS:
YOUTH: Youth Director LARRY
RAGANIT was not present and did not report
¨
Scyler
talked about his trip back to the Nationals.
ESPN is pushing for Youth Chapters and events, and has a lot of things
in the works. Idaho does not have any official Youth Chapters yet, but IBM has
one in the process of being recognized. Magic Valley Bass is looking at a Boy
Scout troop for a Youth Chapter. B.A.S.S. no longer has a single point contact for Youth and they
are working on getting one. ESPN/Disney
are looking at coming out with a fishing-oriented website for kids. Future Kids Casting Championships might
include a day of fishing.
CONSERVATION: Conservation Officer STEVE
BURK reported:
¨
Steve
mentioned the Eastern Idaho had a low snowpack level this year and is already
seeing water flow restrictions on several reservoirs. He wants everyone to try
and conserve water.
¨
Another
structure plant at C.J. Strike was discussed.
We have money in the Conservation account and Allan still has some
materials left from the last plant. We need to talk to the new F & G
biologist and see if our structure plant permit can be renewed. Allan also mentioned that most of the
structures that we planted two years ago have been moved by unknown parties. At least they are probably still in the lake
somewhere at a secret location…
TOURNAMENT
DIRECTOR:
Tournament director Dusty Womack was not present and did not report
¨
The
Southern Region Qualifier on C.J. Strike had 15 boats; the Eastern Qualifier on
Milner had 21 boats. We haven’t
received results from the North yet.
¨
Next
Southern Qualifier will be June 15 on Brownlee; East will be June 15 on
American Falls
¨
The
State Team will be fishing the Regional on The Delta in California May 19 – 24.
COMMUNICATION: Communication Officer J.C.
WORTHEN reported:
¨
The
next newsletter should go to the printer Monday May 20.
OLD BUSINESS:
The Elks Lodge in Caldwell
has been reserved for the 2003 Federation Banquet.
NEW BUSINESS:
¨
Magic
Valley has their Open on Milner Saturday May 18.
¨
The
B.A.S.S. roster that came back from the Nationals with Dusty needs to be
compared with the local version kept by the Secretary. Anyone that is on the National Roster but not
on the Idaho roster isn’t officially a Federation member in good standings.
There being no more new business, President Womack
reminded all that the next meeting would be on June 20. The meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
