Conservation Report-Steve Jones

  • Cascade Res. Structure plant update:  Steve Jones advises a work date for structure construction is March 13, 2010, in Cascade.  Time and location to be announced soon. IBFN has decided to not participate.  Permit proposal is being finalized for submission to Fish and Game. Supplies are still needed including pipe cutters, one roll of 6ml plastic, and concrete.  It is estimated it will take up to 3 hours with 6 people to complete structure construction.  A member has also suggested that once structures are planted, that GPS coordinates be made available to fisherman for structures.
  • Salmon Falls Structure plant update:  Kurt Campbell reported that structure construction was completed 2/13/10.  The F&G permit has been completed and sent to Boise office for approval. Ice is still in our way at both lakes as of just yesterday but looks as if it leaving early again this year. Tentative plant dates 2nd or 3rd week of March.  The plan is to complete the structure plant on one day on both lakes to maximize use of barge.
