The Idaho Bass Federation (TIBF) meeting Minutes Thursday, January 17, 2013, 7:00pm.


             The TIBF January monthly meeting was brought to order 7:00 p.m. at JH Sales & Marine(formerly Western Marine), Nampa, Idaho. Those in attendance were:  Davanh Sensourghino, President-Idaho Bassmasters;  Scyler Hill-Vice President-Magic Valley Bassmasters; Tammy Shuyler-Secretary/Treasurer-Idaho Bassmasters; Steve Day-Communications-Snaker River Bassmasters; Steve Jones-Conservation-Idaho Bassmasters; Brian Ashton-Youth Director-Idaho Bassmasters; Steve Spear-Idaho Bassmasters; David Ashton-Idaho Bassmasters; Bill Kriner-Snake River Bassmasters; Roger Stringer-Treasure Valley Bass. Teleconference:  Chad Kaiser-Panhandle Anglers; Larry Burton-Idaho Basshunters.  (The teleconference phone system is working great!!)


Secretary-Treasurer Report-Tammy Shuyler

  • TIBF has 116 active members renewed as of meeting date. 
  • Brian Ashton delivered $241.78 check for net proceeds from Solar Bat glasses sales.  This represents glass cost to be paid to TBF.  To date, 22 pairs sold for a total of $440.  $198 applied to High School Fishing travel expenses of David Ashton and Jake Beahm.


Youth Report-Brian Ashton

  • Youth Championship Tournament-Scheduled for August 3-4, 2013, on Cascade Reservoir.  Saturday, August 3, will be pre-fish.  Sunday, August 4, will be Youth Championship tournament. 
  • High School Championship-Set for May 12, 2013, at CJ Strike Res.  The Soldier Appreciation tournament will be held simultaneously.
  • Solar Bat glass sale profits will go to High School Divisional travel expenses. The remaining inventory of glasses will be sold at the TIBF Banquet in February and March Sportsman Show. Brian has confirmed with Tonya Cartilage it is ok to delay payment of the solar bat glasses to allow for sale of remaining inventory.
  • Cabin Fever Reliever Event-Set for February 2, 2013, at the Karcher Mall in Nampa.  It is a one day event (about 7 hours).  Go to KidsFirstCast.org website for more information including a volunteer and donation application available for downloading.  TIBF will be setting up and manning the fishing pond at the event.  Brian is looking for artificial rock boulders for the display.  A suggestion was made perhaps Cabelas has display rocks that could be used. 


Conservation Report-Steve Jones

  • Lowrance book status report.  Steve Jones still needs photos featuring Lowrance banners or products.  The book will be completed in time to be presented April, 2013, at the TBF President meeting.


Communication Report-Steve Day

  • ISCAC-Steve will continue to monitor activity and attend the meetings.   There are fundraiser tickets available for various outdoor opportunities including a bass fishing outing.  Steve Day and Davanh have the tickets to be sold.  He will follow up on the annual ISCAC dues renewal.  Tammy has not received any invoice and needs address to send the renewal check.
  • Steve Day is offering to TIBF member clubs to create and maintain club websites. Annual cost $100.  
  • Members can go to TIBF website http://www.idahobassfed.com for all updates and information.
  • TIBF members have free ad space available on website.


Tournament Report-Davanh Sengsourhino

  • Davanh is seeking input regarding Qualifier fee increase from $240 up to $250 per season.  The additional funds will be used for State Team travel.  He will announce final details of new fee structure at February TIBF meeting. 
  • South Qualifier permits have been submitted and Qualifier schedules set for South, East and North.
  • Scyler reported date change for East Qualifiers to June 29, Walcott Res. and June 30 at American Falls.  If water level too low on American Falls, then location will be changed to Milner Res.  


Old Business

  • 2013 TIBF/TBF/FLW Dues-Renewal dues are now due and payable.  TIBF member clubs are responsible for collection from individual members.   • 2013 TBF/FLW Rod sale-Rods remain available for purchase from TBF.  Contact Tonya Cartilage (580)765-9031, TBF in Oklahoma City, OK,  to place an order for the rods.  There is $25 shipping and handling and multiple rods can be mailed to take advantage of the $25 shipping cost. 
  • Motor Bands-Steve Day has contacted supplier for motor band materials.  The minimum amount of material needed will be ordered in preparation of constructing the motor bands.  The motor bands will be sold for $20 each.   If this project is economically viable as a profit source for TIBF, it will become a permanent project.


New Business

  • Jack and Jill Tournament-Davanh recommended date change for JNJ due to problematic logistics and costs related to permit application.  His recommendation was change date to September 29, 2013, following the last South Qualifier on September 28 at Woodhead Park, Brownlee Res.  All in attendance concurred with his recommendation.  JNJ will be changed to September 29. 
  • Lake Lowell ADA Project-A letter was emailed to TIBF on Thursday seeking support for ADA launch ramp on Lake Lowell.  Steve Day will send out a template letter which can be edited by sender with copy of the Lake Lowell information for members and clubs to utilize and submit to Lake Lowell in support of the project.   Letter deadline is January 24.
  • Sportsman Show-Show is scheduled for February 28-March 3.  TIBF will have the fishing pond set up at the show as in the past.  Volunteer time slots are scheduled as following:  Thursday-2/28:  No fishing; Friday-3/1:  6 volunteers-4hr shift; Saturday-3/2-Three shifts of 3 hrs each-6 volunteers per shift; Sunday-11a-5p will be covered by the State Team.  All volunteers will have FREE access to show.  Davanh advises he will be there all days at the booth.  SRBM and IBM will visit with club members seeking volunteers for Friday and Saturday and report back to Davanh.  Tammy will create 250 business card type handouts for interested visitors with TIBF information. Davanh will be following up with members to identify the volunteers via email. 


2013 TIBF Banquet Planning

  • Date:  February 16, 2013
  • TIBF February Meeting will be 4pm. at the Hilton Garden Inn.
  • Doors open at 5pm.
  • Dinner starts at 6pm.
  • Location:  Hilton Garden Inn, Boise
  • No Host Bar again available this year.
  • Guest Speaker:  Cody Meyer-FLW Ranger Pro Angler.
  • John Burrow of Canyon Marine, will be holding an Open House day of Banquet which will be attended by Cody Meyer.     
  • Banquet tickets are now on sale and available through each member club for $45/each.  This includes chicken or beef meal, One Big Raffle Ticket($10 value) and 20 regular raffle tickets ($20 value). Contact an executive board member for additional tickets as needed.  A weekly update of ticket sales is required to TammyShuyler@gmail.com with ticket number and meal choice. 
  • Big Raffle Item:  MinnKota Foretrex Trolling Motor.  Individual tickets will be available for sale for $10/each.
  • Live Auction, Silent Auction and Raffle will be held using all donated items as appropriate. 
  • Raffle/Auction donations from all available sources including member clubs, individual members and interested business are requested for fundraising at the banquet. 
  • Credit Card machine from Key Bank has been reserved.
  • Davanh has been working with new and existing sponsors.  He is seeking input for recruitment opportunities of additional sponsors from the TIBF membership.  Notify Davanh of any ideas or suggestions via his email.
  • Hilton Garden Motel contact is Jennifer Reed.  There is block of rooms reserved for TIBF member reservations.  Per night cost is $84. 
  • The Executive Board is planning for attendance at or above last year numbers.
