January Meeting Minutes

The TIBF May monthly meeting was brought to order 7:00 p.m. at J/H Sales & Marine, Nampa, Idaho. Those in attendance were: Davanh Sengsourinho/President-Idaho Bassmasters; Scyler Hill/Vice President-Magic Valley Bassmasters; Steve Day/Communications-Snake River Bassmasters; Jason Fuller, Conservation; Bill Kriner-Snake River Bassmasters; Mike Enrico & Shellie Rogers -Snake River Bassmasters; James Brandt-Mountain Home Hawg Hunters; Scott Lepka- Mountain Home Hawg Hunters; Steve Spears, Idaho Bassmasters; Loren Torok -BSU; Brian Ashton on phone.

Secretary-Treasurer Report-Tammy Shuyler not present

    • 2016 TIBF Membership Renewals trickling in now.

Youth Report-Brian Ashton not present
     • State Youth 2016 Championships-Location will be Lake Lowell July 9 for TIBF and July 10 for IBFN. Federations will share permits and split costs.
    • 2016 High School Tournament-Location CJ Strike June 26

Conservation Report-Jason Fuller
    • Davanh has a meeting with the Canyon County Commissioners to discuss the Lake Lowell carp removal project.

Communication Report-Steve Day
    • IDFG sent out a fisheries newsletter, it is posted on the website.
    • Steve Day is offering to TIBF member clubs to create and maintain club websites. Annual cost $100. Steve will be sending out his annual invoices for his services.
    • Members can go to TIBF website for all updates and information.
    • TIBF members have free ad space available on website.

Tournament Report-Davanh Sengsourhino
    • South/East Qualifiers dates/locations are posted on website, waiting to receive Qualifier info from North.
    • Davanh may move the Owyhee Qualifier due to the Regional Qualifier.
    • Qualifier changes are coming this year; Regional and National are boater/non-boater we may need to change our Qualifiers to match. New Regional with Montana will be this fall after Qualifiers are complete.

Old Business:
    • 2016 Banquet planning -will be Feb. 20 at Meridian Senior Citizen Center. The Curb will be retained for the bar along with Smoky Davis to cater the event. The nearby motel will also be contacted to reserve block of rooms. John Murray will be the guest speaker. Canyon Marine will have an Open House Saturday Feb. 20 before the banquet. Major raffle prize will probably be a Traeger Grill. All TIBF club are requested to bring a basket or other raffle item to the banquet. We will need bigger live auction items as we won't get the usual Lowrance and MinnKota items before the banquet. Banquet tickets are available; price is $35 per person. Need to get donations from local businesses. Davanh to buy a rifle and a shotgun to raffle off.
    • 2016 TIBF/TBF/FLW Dues-TIBF member clubs are responsible for collection from individual members. Once collected, club secretary-treasurer will sign online at to create an invoice. New Business:
    • 2016 officers: still need a secretary/treasurer and vice-president. Scott Lepka may be our new vice-president.
    • 2016 Sportsman Show-Due to the ongoing struggle to man the booth, Board is seeking input whether or not to continue participation at the show. Davanh will contact IBFN to determine if they may be interested in consolidating efforts to man one single booth.
    • Next meeting is at J/H Sales in Nampa on Thursday February 18 or before the banquet on Feb. 20.
