The Idaho Bass Federation (TIBF) meeting Minutes Thursday, July 18, 2013, 7:00pm.

             The TIBF July monthly meeting was brought to order 7:00 p.m. at JH Sales & Marine, Nampa, Idaho. Those in attendance were:  Davanh Sengsourhino/President-Idaho Bassmasters; Tammy Shuyler-Secretary/Treasurer-Idaho Bassmasters; Scyler Hill/Vice President-Magic Valley Bassmasters; Steve Day/Communications-Snake River Bassmasters; Steve Spear-Idaho Bassmasters; Bill Kriner-Snake River Bassmasters.

Secretary-Treasurer Report-Tammy Shuyler

  • No June meeting minutes as June meeting cancelled due to lack of attendees.
  • Treasurer Report.
  • Reimbursement of Youth travel expense to Brian Ashton approved for August Nationals.Total reimbursement $622.44 for his air fare and car rental.

Youth Report-Brian Ashton (Davanh reported)

  • Youth Championship Tournament-Scheduled for August 3-4, 2013, on Cascade Reservoir.Pre-fish ending at Saturday, August 3 4:30pm.Pre-tournament meeting will be 5:00pm. Saturday, August 3, and tournament will be Sunday, August 4.There will be a 50 mph. enforced for the day of tournament. Nine entries received to date.
  • National Junior Championships are set for August 14, 2013, in Shreveport, LA.Brian will be travelling to attend along with Youth qualifiers.

Conservation Report-No officer (interested Member sought to fill vacant position) Davanh reported.

  • No report.

Communication Report-Steve Day

  • ISCAC-Steve will continue to monitor activity and attend the meetings.Go to ISCAC website for legislative summary.
  • Steve Day is offering to TIBF member clubs to create and maintain club websites. Annual cost $100.  
  • Members can go to TIBF website http://www.idahobassfed.com for all updates and information.
  • TIBF members have free ad space available on website.

Tournament Report-Davanh Sengsourhino

  • South just completed third qualifier with final qualifier set for Brownlee/Woodhead September 28.Jack N Jill is scheduled for September 29, 2013.
  • North results are pending.

Old Business

  • 2013 TIBF/TBF/FLW Dues-TIBF member clubs are responsible for collection from individual members.   • Motor Bands-Tammy and Steve Day continue to work on project.Materials are not readily available and Steve has identified another source for the materials with better pricing. The motor bands will be sold for $20 each.†† If this project is economically viable as a profit source for TIBF, it will become a permanent project.Steve Day is ordering the neoprene material which needs to be ordered no later than September, 2013.Once received, a seamstress will cut and sew the bands.Screen printing has also been arranged when ready for printing.
  • 2014 Banquet planning.Location has been identified in Boise/Meridian located at the intersection of Fairview/Eagle Road 1920 Records Way, Meridian, ID 83646.It has 3 flatscreen TVís with laptop, microphone and excellent kitchen amenities including ice machine. Capacity is 205 with available tables set up for 175.The Center at the Park (the new Meridian Senior Center in Kleinert Park) will be reserved for banquet date of February 22, 2014.Sponsors are currently being researched and any members wishing to participate as sponsor/donor are asked to contact Davanh.A local motel will be identified and rate negotiated for attendees.There are several in the area and one will be sought that has a shuttle available.Caterers and bar will also be researched.
  • Solar bat glasses-Davanh will discuss final disposition with Brian Ashton of remaining glasses.These glasses were sold with proceeds directed to the High School Youth.
  • Howards Tackle CARP Shoot is July 27-28.

New Business

  • Upcoming events include CAST, Black Canyon, Emmett, August 17. Volunteers are sought as boaters for the disabled youth.There is usually an early morning breakfast gathering in Emmett with Bruce Flesher and John Vehlow.Scales of Justice is scheduled for September 22.All boater volunteer entries received will receive a raffle ticket win Mustang Survival Tournament Inflatable life jacket ($300 value) donated by John Vehlow. Additionally, all entries received in advance of August 30, will receive a raffle ticket from pledge date (app received) thru to August 8.SOJ entry forms have been circulated to all the clubs and bass fishing community.The entry form can be found on TIBF website as well to be downloaded and submitted.
  • Bill Kriner, SRB, mentioned that their June Youth event went well however there are concerns that other clubs had scheduled club tournaments on top of the event.This in turn impacts participant and volunteer of the SRB Youth event and he wanted to ask that all clubs avoid scheduling club tournaments on top of Opens and/or Youth events.Group agreed with Billís comment.
  • A robust discussion regarding tournament fish preservation ensued.Scyler Hill reported he has a system established and Bill asked that it be shared with he and the group.Scyler said he would be happy to do so.He reminded everyone of the Dry Creek Open Tournament sponsored by Brad Perkins/Dry Creek Outfitters on Milner Res. for September 14.
