Conservation Report-Steve Jones

  • Steve provided update regarding Lake Lowell meetings.  The meeting attendance and follow up feedback from bass fisherman are critical for future Lake Lowell management and public use.  This public feedback will be utilized for the management plan which needs to be completed by 2012.  TIBF will prepare a survey to be made available on TIBF website for members to utilize in providing the feedback.  There are also Open Houses scheduled at the Deer Flat Visitor Center July 28, August 20-21 where public input can also be provided. Go to refuge website http://www.fws.gov/deerflat for further details and status of the planning process.  Steve reminds folks this is an ongoing process and input may be sought and encouraged many times over until Fish and Wildlife have what they need to complete the final comprehensive plan.
