The Idaho Bass Federation (TIBF) meeting Minutes Thursday, October 21, 2010, 7:00pm.


            The TIBF September monthly meeting was brought to order 7:00pm. at Western Marine, Nampa, Idaho. Those in attendance were:  Bruce Flesher, President; Tammy Shuyler, Secretary-Treasurer; Steve Jones-Conservation; Steve Day-Communications and SRBM; Don Boeger-IBM; Tony Shuyler-IBM; Tom Horrace-SRBM; and on teleconference, Kurt Campbell-Walleye Unlimited; Brandon Craner; Scyler Hill-Magic Valley Bassmasters; Michael Tauscher-Snake River Valley Bass

Treasurer Report-Tammy Shuyler

  • Treasurer Report
  • September-meeting minutes approved.
  • Invoices presented for payment:  Bulldog Embroidery-State Team; Youth Travel-National Guard Championship-Georgia-Schneidermann Youth $2773.67.

Youth Report-John Lancaster (Bruce Flesher presented in John’s absence)

  • Feedback sought regarding youth travel expense allowance. 

Conservation Report-Steve Jones

  • Lake Lowell Meeting Sept. 25-26-27.  Steve attended the meetings.  For updates can go to Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge website.  He advises more public comment periods upcoming.  So far appears fishing activity is protected on the lake.

Communication Report-Steve Day

  • Steve is seeking TIBF member photos for upcoming banquet slide show.  Please email or notify Steve you have pics to share. 
  • Members can go to TIBF website http://www.idahobassfed.com for all updates and information.
  • TIBF members have free ad space available on website.

Tournament Report-Bruce Flesher

  • North Qualifiers delayed.  East and South qualifiers are complete.   
  • Team Division Allocation-Vote completed regarded allocation of division teams.  Motion presented as follows:

                        “State team slots shall be awarded or allocated to each of the three regions, north, south (southwest)             and east based on the total participation of qualified fishermen with a minimum of one slot awarded or allocated             to any region with three or more qualifying fishermen competing in the qualifier series.

                        A qualified or qualifying fisherman is any fisherman competing in the qualifier series who meets the             membership requirements and competes in no less than three qualifier tournaments."

            Motion was discussed and approved. Thanks to all members for the robust input and discussion.

  • Boater/Non-boater allocation for 2011 State Team discussion.  Based on percentages of division participation, East will have two boaters.  Bruce will work on Motion to clarify future state team boater/non-boater rule allocation.

Old Business

  • Banquet proceeds:  Members present agreed banquet proceeds shall benefit Youth and Conservation only.
  • State Team Fund Raiser:  Jack and Jill shall become State Team fundraiser per Don Boeger.
  • TIBF Officer Elections upcoming-Member clubs are requested to discuss member interest in officer positions.  Elected positions are President, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer.  Nominations from clubs should be brought to October meeting.

New Business

  • ISCAC 2011 Dues Renewal: Members voted and approved TIBF to renew membership in ISCAC for $200.
  • Major event planning meeting:  Planning meeting will be November 4, 2010, at Campbell Tractor 7pm.

2010 TIBF Banquet planning

  • Date:  November 20, 2010
  • Location:  Hilton Garden Inn, Boise
  • No host bar open at 5:00pm.; Dinner start 6:00pm
  • Major Raffle Prize:  Fortex 80lb. Minkota 24 Volt Trolling Motor Value $1,000
  • Tammy to order credit card machine from Key Bank. 
  • New! Member clubs are asked to start seeking raffle and auction donation items.  A $500 donation will be rewarded with free membership and two meals.  Dobyns rods have been added. New!  Kurt Campbell will bring a raffle ticket drum. Silent auction items will be placed in back of room and have individual bidding deadlines established.   All contributions should have a individual placquard to identify content. An potential auctioneer is being contacted. 
  • New!  Business contributors will be recognized in the powerpoint presentation.
  • New!  Tammy has issued a challenge to each member club to provide one single item of interest for the Ladies ie. Gift Basket, non-fishing/hunting items; holiday décor; etc.
  • Hilton charges a $100 set up fee for bar.
  • Banquet tickets now available and for sale by TIBF member clubs.  Ticket prices will be $45 pp.  Additional $58 FLW & TIBF dues can be paid voluntarily with raffle tickets awarded for advance payment of dues.
  • New!  Bruce needs to receive dinner counts 72 hours prior to banquet from each member club.  No other charges for the banquet room.
  • Hilton will supply audio-visual equipment.  Steve Day will provide projector for small fee to TIBF.
  • There is one comp room for a guest speaker.
  • Guest speaker:  Gabe Bolivar.  Gabe will receive paid hotel room, 2 meals and travel expense reimbursement from TIBF.
  • Steve Day will obtain and publish a Bio for Gabe.

Meeting adjourned 9:10pm.
